Welcome to Girl Dinner Social. By using our website, joining our waitlist, or buying a ticket to an event, you agree to these terms. Please read them.
Who we are
Girl Dinner Social (“GDS,” “we,” “us”) is an event community based in Chicago. We host gatherings for women and partner with aligned communities to list theirs. We may add new features as the platform grows.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase tickets.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account.
- One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone else.
Tickets, payments, and refunds
- Ticket prices, availability, and event details are set by the host of each event.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's terms.
- All ticket sales are final unless the host's refund policy says otherwise, or the event is cancelled.
- If we cancel an event, we'll refund the ticket price.
- You're responsible for showing up. No-shows are not refunded.
Community conduct
GDS is built on trust and respect. When using the site or attending events, don't:
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone
- Share private information about other members without consent
- Use GDS for commercial solicitation, spam, or networking-as-cold-outreach
- Create fake accounts or attempt to game verification
- Disrupt events or violate the host's reasonable rules
We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.
Your content
When you post anything to GDS — answers to event questions, messages, profile info — you keep ownership, but you give us a non-exclusive license to host and display it as needed to operate the platform. Don't post anything you don't have the rights to share.
Our content
The GDS name, logo, copy, designs, and code belong to us. You can use the site as intended, but please don't copy, scrape, or rebrand it.
Events are run by hosts
Some events are hosted by GDS directly; others are hosted by partner communities who use our platform. The host is responsible for the event itself — venue, schedule, food, conduct on-site. We're not liable for injuries, losses, or disagreements that happen at events we don't directly run, beyond what the law requires.
Disclaimers
GDS is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee the site will always be available, error-free, or that any specific friendship will result from using it. We do our best, but the internet exists.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, GDS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or attendance at events. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
Changes
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. We'll change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, give notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
